The results of last Saturdays games are reported by Boomerangs FS as follows:
3 Win Boomerangs in Tough Premier League Fixture
Round 2 brought the first home game in our new venue this AIS Training Hall. After such good results in round 1 our players were out to continue their great start to the season.
As usual the 12 boys got us underway hoping to change their fortunes from the week before. But it was not to be slipping to a 0-5 defecit at the break. the 2nd half saw some tactical changes and a much improved performance leaving the end result 1-7
12 Girls were next against what is likely to be one of their toughest games all year. After a tight first 10 mins it was the Dural side broke the deadlock. 0-1 at halftime our girls went into the 2nd half confident of an equaliser. It wasn't to be however with our girls running out of legs on the big AIS court. final score 0-3
14 Boys were out to get their season on track after a loss last weekend. and they got off to the best possible start taking a 3-0 lead into the break. The 2nd half was a tighter contest with each side scoring twice in an end to end battle. Final score 5-2.
14 Girls got their season off to a great start with a 7-0 victory last weekend and they weren't about to let up in this game. the game started at massive intensity with Dural having the best of the first 5. It was the Boomerangs that got the first goal through a swift counter attack. 3 more followed as the girls went out to a 4-0 lead early in the 2nd. the last 10 sw dural score 2 to our 1 leaving the score 5-2.
16 Boys were sitting atop their table and looking to stay there. Again a furious pace was displayed for the first half. 0-0 for the 2nd week in a row despite having the better of the chances. The deadlock was broken by a thunderbolt after a quick counter attack for the Boomerangs. As was the case last week once the boys got 1 more followed with the boysscoring 2 more to run out 3-0 winners.
16 Girls still missing some players were always going to do it tough in the final stages. The girls went into the braek leading 2-0 and looking comfortable. The 2nd half was hit and miss ofor ur girls striking the crossbar twice and producing some wonderfu futsal early before conceding 3 goals to eventually lose 3-2. Good things to come from this team though.
Youth men were missing 5 players against a Dural side that finished 2nd in last years Premier League. This one produced some brilliant futsal from both sides with each side taking its turn controlling the play. leading with 10 to go in the 2nd stanza Boomerangs wasted the chance to extend their lead and were punished with Dural hitting 2 in the final 10 to win the match 3-2.
There will be no easy games in the Womens League this year. A very impressive Dural side pressed for the majority of this game making things difficult for the Boomerangs girls to play. The scores were locked at 1-1 with 12 minutes remaining but our girls ran out of legs in the final 10 conceding 3 goals to eventually lose 4-1.
The men despite having half of the roster unavailable were still able to field a team full of state representatives against last years mens champions. The game again was played at high speed with some quality futsal played by both sides. Dural broe the deadlock with only minutes to play in the first. It was boomerangs who came out firing in the 2nd diminating their opponents for a good 15 minutes. With scores locked at 1-1 Durals long bench came to the for with the Boomerangs boys running out of legs and going down 4-1. With the likes of Ryan Keir, Jason O'Dwyer, Trent Flanigan and Futsalroo captain Angelo Konstantinou to come back in things are looking promising for this season.
3 wins for the day, so easily could have been 5 or 6. None the less a very successful day at the AIS
