Albertsons Library Honors University Authors
On February 29, 2012 Albertsons Library will host a reception to honor several hundred Boise State University faculty and staff who have published books, articles, book chapters and other creative works during the 2010-2011 academic year. Research topics range from arsenic in South Asian groundwater to Idaho school principals; from setting up a smoking cessation website for pregnant teens to the effects of weather on raptor migration; from memory alloys to social networks.
The reception will be from 3:30 to 5 pm in the McCain Room on the Library's second floor. The recognition program will begin at 4:00 pm. Authors and all members of the University community are invited to attend. An author bibliography is available online at the Library’s website at http://scholarworks.boisestate.edu/uar/
Faculty and staff are encouraged to review the bibliography, as well as all the content in ScholarWorks, and to submit any works published between September 1, 2010 - August 31, 2011. Publication information can be sent to scholarworks@boisestate.edu
Please join us in celebrating and recognizing the scholarship and accomplishments of Boise State University faculty and staff.

Faith Healers Banned From Advertising
Britain's Advertising Standards Authority has banned a Christian group from advertising faith healing. You can read an article about this here. The Authority claims that this type of advertising is misleading and could generate false hope in people. (I guess that never happens in advertising otherwise.) This, folks, is interesting. Often people have indicated that Christianity in the United States could go the way of Western Europe. It gives us something to think about as we contemplate how we are to move forward in faith.
