Catalog Offline for Upgrade Dec. 26-29.
The Library catalog will be offline December 26th through December 29th for an important software upgrade. Patrons wishing to search our collection during the upgrade window may do so at the WorldCat database from the Library's "Find Articles" page.
- To look for Library holdings while Voyager is unavailable go to WorldCat and conduct your search.
- If the item is owned by Boise State University, following the statement "Libraries worldwide" Boise State University will be highlighted.
- Click on the link for the title.
- Near the bottom of the bibliographic record will be the statement "Class Descriptors:" followed by a partial Library of Congress and/or Dewey call number. You can use these numbers to find the item in the collection when the library reopens.

OncologyStat Available @thelibrary
OncologyStat has been added to Albertsons Library's Online Databases page. It is also included in the Library's Journals List page.OncologySTAT integrates a multitude of authoritative professional cancer information sources, such as peer-reviewed research, news and regulatory updates, a professional drug monograph and interactions database, chemotherapy regimens, and conference coverage into one easy-to-use online destination. Information and educational materials are delivered across multiple media formats: text, audio, video, interactive, user-generated forums, etc.
Community oncologists and cancer-care practitioners in private practice or a non-institutional setting will find OncologySTAT especially useful in gaining immediate integrated access to the latest evidence-based research, news, treatment, and decision support information.

Library Open 24 Hours for Finals Week
The first floor only of the Albertsons Library will be open 24 hours a day from 10:00 AM Sunday, December 16, through 6:00 PM Thursday, December 20. Staff will be on hand to answer questions and check out first floor reserve materials.
Security will be provided by the Boise Police Department; an officer will be on duty in the library all night and can provide escort service.
The funding for the free coffee is provided by the Associated Students of Boise State University (ASBSU).

Melville Marginalia @thelibrary
Now on display in the library's first floor (next to Starbucks), a peek at literary research into the writings of Herman Melville using Albertsons Library resources and the Melville Marginalia website. The website is administered by Boise State professor Steven Olsen-Smith. We teamed up with Dr. Olsen-Smith to create a display looking at the erased notes written in the margins of a book from Melville’s personal library that sheds light into his thinking as he was writing Moby Dick.

The Modern Latin American Art Collection
ARTstor and the Art and Art History Department at the University of Texas, Austin have collaborated on a project to digitize and distribute the teaching slides from Professor Jacqueline Barnitz’s collection. This release contains over 3,800 images that provide teachers, students and scholars with a core teaching collection in the area of modern Latin American art.

The Natural History Drawings of the Endeavour Voyage

Faculty Author Recognition Deadline
Submissions for the second annual Boise State University Author Recognition are being accepted online at http://library.boisestate.edu/faculty/ . The deadline for including citations is this Friday, December 7th.The Author Recognition events celebrate all Boise State University faculty and employee authors who published a book, article, or creative work between September 1, 2006 and August 31, 2007.
The upcoming recognition events include an online bibliography of university scholarship, a display of the books, articles, and creative works in Albertsons Library from mid-January through February, and a reception on February 21 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm where authors will be introduced. The reception will be in the Albertsons Library McCain Room.

American Song database
Albertsons Library is pleased to announce the availability of American Song, a new database in the Music Online collection from Alexander Street Press."American Song is a history database that will contain 50,000 tracks that allows people to hear and feel the music from America's past. The database will include songs by and about American Indians, miners, immigrants, slaves, children, pioneers, and cowboys. Included in the database are the songs of Civil Rights, political campaigns, Prohibition, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, anti-war protests and more. This release includes 728 albums -- over 12103 tracks."Classical Music Library, Smithsonian Global Sound for Libraries and African American Song are the other Alexander Street Press Music Online resources available on the library's Online Databases web page.
